Sahar was a Research Assistant in Dr. L’Abbe’s Lab in 2017-2018. She holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition Science and Policy from Tufts University. She worked on a variety projects for nutrition policy and population health. She worked on the Food Environment Policy Index (Food-EPI) project developed by INFORMAS (International Network for Food and Obesity/Non-communicable disease Research, Monitoring and Action Support) to examine the state of food environment policy in Canada compared to international best practices. Her other roles involved updating the Food Label Information Program (FLIP) to reflect the 2017 grocery market, in collaboration with other L’Abbe Lab staff as well as Health Canada’s Office of Nutrition Policy and Promotion. In the past, she worked at the University of Saskatchewan as a Clinical Research Coordinator investigating the use of dietary supplements among older adults. Results of her projects have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
