Laura completed her PhD in the L’Abbé Lab in July 2021. She joined the lab in September 2016 as a fourth-year undergraduate student. Laura’s doctoral thesis compared the product (re)formulation actions and commitments of the top packaged food and beverage companies in Canada. Her graduate training was supported by a CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship Doctoral Award and an Ontario Graduate Scholarship. Laura’s research was also recognized by awards from the Canadian Nutrition Society and Obesity Canada. As a doctoral student, she completed the Collaborative Specialization in Public Health Policy program at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Outside the lab, Laura served as President of the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Students’ Association, Vice President of the Department of Nutritional Sciences Alumni Association, Chair of the Obesity Canada Students and New Professionals National Executive, and a Child Life Volunteer at The Hospital for Sick Children.
