Laura is a senior PhD student in the L’Abbé lab. She joined the lab in September 2016 as a fourth-year undergraduate student. Laura’s primary research focus is on evaluating food company policies, commitments and actions shaping the food environment. Her doctoral thesis aims to assess and compare the nutritional quality and price of products offered by major packaged food and beverage companies in Canada. Laura’s research training is supported by a CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship Doctoral Award, and an Ontario Graduate Scholarship. Outside the lab, Laura serves as President of the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Students’ Association, Vice President of the Department of Nutritional Sciences Alumni Association, Outgoing Chair of the Obesity Canada Students and New Professionals National Executive, and a Child Life Volunteer at The Hospital for Sick Children. Laura holds an Honours BSc with High Distinction from the University of Toronto.
