Laura completed her PhD with Dr. Mary L’Abbé in July 2021 after joining the lab in September 2016 as an undergraduate student. Her doctoral thesis compared the product (re)formulation actions and commitments of the top packaged food and beverage companies in Canada. She has also led or contributed to studies on food company nutrition policies, food processing, food marketing to children, food prices, dietary practices, nutrient profiling and nutrition labelling. Laura’s graduate training was supported by a CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship Doctoral Award and an Ontario Graduate Scholarship, and her research was recognized by awards from the Canadian Nutrition Society and Obesity Canada. She also completed the Collaborative Specialization in Public Health Policy PhD program at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Laura recently founded Nutrience Consulting, which provides support in conducting, analyzing or communicating research in nutritional sciences, public health or other life sciences.
