Caroline is a first-year MSc student in the L’Abbe Lab. Caroline recently completed her HBSc with a double major in Nutritional Sciences and Health & Diseases, along with a minor in Physiology at the University of Toronto. Her research thesis focuses on analyzing the nutritional quality alignment of meals and diets served in long-term care homes and developing an evidence-informed, easy-to-use tool to monitor the nutritional quality of meals. Her master’s work is supported by the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s award and the Banting and Best Diabetes Centre Novo Nordisk Studentship. Previously, she also completed the NFS394/494 research courses with Dr. L’Abbe, which focused on assessing the alignment of packaged food and beverages in the Canadian Food Supply and comparing sodium levels in Canadian chain restaurant foods against UK salt reduction targets.
