Kimiya is a first year MSc candidate in the L’Abbe Lab. Recently a University of Toronto graduate, she has a double major in Nutritional Sciences and Physiology. Her research focus is on the role of local governments on healthy food policies. Kimiya is also working alongside Lana, evaluating the government and industry food environment policies in Canada and comparing them to international best practices, in collaboration with INFORMAS (International Network for Food and Obesity / non-communicable Diseases Research, Monitoring and Action Support). In the past, she has worked at SickKids Hospital as a summer research student, publishing papers evaluating healthy level biomarkers in children.
