Ferdeela Shah is a Registered Dietitian who completed her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food at Ryerson University. Upon completion, Ferdeela began working in the L’Abbe Lab gaining experience in the world of Nutrition Research for 1.5 years. Ferdeela applied her interest in nutrition to the FLIP project and gained a strong understanding of food labels and packages and the ability to interpret changes in sodium levels in packaged foods. During her time in the L’Abbe Lab, Ferdeela also had the opportunity to work on a Sodium Validation study.
Today, Ferdeela works as a Registered Dietitian and Diabetes Educator in a Diabetes clinic and continuously applies her knowledge of packaged foods and label reading when counselling her patients about food choices.
