Daniel joined the L’Abbe Lab in Fall 2023 , where he will be investigating changes in added sugars in the retail food supply, consumption patterns, and projected health impacts of new food labeling policies in Canada.

Daniel completed his PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences in the Department of Health, Behavior and Society at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. His training is rooted in a socioecological understanding of human health behavior and the myriad ways public health interventions may be designed and implemented to improve population health. His research focuses on dietary intake and dietary health behaviors across the lifespan, with a focus on the critical period of birth to age five years. Daniel was a Fellow in Clinical Diabetes and Endocrinology with the US National Institutes of Health National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (T32DK062707), and has additional advanced training in nutritional epidemiology, data science, and policy evaluation.
