Dr. Daniel Zaltz is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa. Daniel joined the L’Abbe Lab in Fall 2023 , where he investigated changes in added sugars in the retail food supply, consumption patterns, and projected health impacts of new food labeling policies in Canada.
Daniel completed his PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences in the Department of Health, Behavior and Society at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He received a doctoral fellowship from the US National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases in clinical research and epidemiology, as well as a postdoctoral fellowships from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Banting and Best Diabetes Centre. Daniel studies food policies, food systems, and the commercial determinants of health.
