Mahsa recently completed her Ph.D. in the L’Abbe Lab and also has a M.Sc. in the area of maternal and pediatric nutrition from the University of Alberta. For her doctoral thesis, Mahsa focused on informing evidence-based strategies for reducing obesity and chronic diseases (type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases) at the population level through population health assessment (including dietary assessment) and development and application of novel dietary pattern techniques. Mahsa also studied systematic error (e.g., misreporting) minimization in relation to risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, using the Canadian nationally representative survey.
